Plymouth’s picturesque rocky coastline also has room for two wonderful public beaches:  White Horse Beach and Plymouth Beach.  Myles Standish State Forest offers fresh-water swimming opportunities.

Boating/Kayaking/Canoeing:
In Plymouth, Myles Standish State Forest is a welcoming place for kayakers and canoeists looking for a fresh water setting.  Contact the harbormaster in Plymouth for specifics on town boat launches.  Wareham has a town pier from which to put in your canoe or kayak.  Don’t forget the town’s rivers, estuaries and ponds.  For information on where to launch motorized craft, contact Wareham’s harbormaster.

Fishing opportunities are to be found in campgrounds in Plymouth and Wareham.  For saltwater enthusiasts, fish from Plymouth’s coastline or go out on a charter from Plymouth Harbor. Wareham has rivers and estuaries as well as its coastline along Buzzards Bay.

Plymouth has nine public courses and Wareham has three.

Guided Tours:
Visit Plimouth Plantation for total immersion into the past.  Several historic places offer guided tours.  Take a whale watching cruise out of Plymouth Harbor.  Canal Cruises leave fromWareham for an interesting tour of the Cape Cod Canal.

Transportation:
A car is perhaps the easiest mode of transportation in both Plymouth and Wareham.  Of the two, Plymouth has more options: a shuttle bus service, commuter rail station and a bus stop.
